Narrative:
Approaching tlh airport, VFR conditions. Vectored by tower due to VFR traffic 11 O'clock, 3 mi. We had no visual contact. TCASII showed traffic, then issued a descend RA. I initiated descent from 2000 ft. At 1500 ft, TCASII issued clear of traffic conflict. At this point we acquired the aircraft visually. Notified ATC of altitude deviation due to TCASII RA. It would have been a close encounter if we had not descended.
