Narrative:
After engine start, preparing for taxi, during my before taxi flow, a strange noise was coming from what appeared to be the air conditioning packs. Smoke became evident (smell only) and the APU fire warning sounded. I completed the APU fire checklist and called for land evacuate/evacuation checklist. We promptly exited the aircraft. The ground crew brought our stairs over and we made a normal exit through the cabin door. The ground crew, assisted by one of our jump seat riders, extinguished the fire, 2 of which were exposed to smoke, and taken to the local hospital. The mco fire crew arrived promptly and secured the aircraft.
