Narrative:
The continued scheduling of low time PIC and sic must stop! I am a transition captain in the mdt. I was extended to do an iad-mdt-sce-mdf-iad turn. My first officer was both new to the mdt and the company. He came from an small transport to an mdt. I was an light transport captain from the same company. The 4 legs were short and hurried. But for the most part uneventful. (I think.) that's the problem. I was so busy flying almost single pilot. Fly or watch like a hawk while the aircraft was being flown, navigation, communication, etc. I can hardly remember any particulars of the flight, except I was too darned busy for a pilot new to the airplane. There is only so much a human being can absorb and putting a new captain and new first officer together push all ability to operate safely to the limit. I do know of one time during the flight where we strayed off course due to confusion over which VOR we were cleared to. Again, this was due to lack of experience with aircraft by both crew members and poor coordination between crew members.
