Narrative:
Inbound mia heat 2 arrival at 11000 ft. Air carrier flight Y given 10000 ft. Flight Y flight descended straight ahead due WX and passed us on our left side -- no problem. Controller (after the close pass) gave us 250 degree heading and 10000 ft. Back in the WX due to his vector, he now wants a left turn through this very same WX. No way. Right tight 360 degree turn to a 170 degree heading and back on heat 2 arrival. Other air carrier never made a turn and continued on the arrival.
