Narrative:
ATC inadvertently cleared a flight 2000 ft below us to our altitude. We were alerted of this by our TCASII. Apparently there was an overlap of targets on the radar (ATC) screen.

Narrative: ATC INADVERTENTLY CLRED A FLT 2000 FT BELOW US TO OUR ALT. WE WERE ALERTED OF THIS BY OUR TCASII. APPARENTLY THERE WAS AN OVERLAP OF TARGETS ON THE RADAR (ATC) SCREEN.
