Narrative:
While inbound on a left 45 to runway 3R and 5.8 DME off the localizer to prescott airport and instructed by ATC to report overhead the field at 6500 ft MSL and while (field elevation 5040 ft MSL) descending through 6800 ft and indicating 160 KTS, my instructor and I saw an opposite direction conflicting aircraft (a single engine small aircraft X, high wing) simultaneously, in an increasing climbing right turn. I remained PIC and evaded to the right approximately 30 ft above and 200 ft horizontally from the small aircraft X.

Narrative: WHILE INBOUND ON A L 45 TO RWY 3R AND 5.8 DME OFF THE LOC TO PRESCOTT ARPT AND INSTRUCTED BY ATC TO RPT OVERHEAD THE FIELD AT 6500 FT MSL AND WHILE (FIELD ELEVATION 5040 FT MSL) DSNDING THROUGH 6800 FT AND INDICATING 160 KTS, MY INSTRUCTOR AND I SAW AN OPPOSITE DIRECTION CONFLICTING ACFT (A SINGLE ENG SMA X, HIGH WING) SIMULTANEOUSLY, IN AN INCREASING CLBING R TURN. I REMAINED PIC AND EVADED TO THE R APPROX 30 FT ABOVE AND 200 FT HORIZLY FROM THE SMA X.
