Narrative:

While approaching final approach course, approximately 14.5 NM from pdx crew received clearance on a 180 degree heading to intercept runway 10R ILS, descend and maintain 2500 ft, maintain 2500 ft until sauvi intersection, cleared for ILS 10R. At approximately 2800 ft GPWS alert sounded twice. First officer executed escape maneuver and climbed to 3500 ft. Pdx approach was apprised of the escape maneuver. Subsequently, approach and landing clearance and execution completed to normal landing. Suggest pdx approach limit descent clearance to 3000 ft until sauvi as published, not 2500 ft.
