Narrative:
Air carrier X at FL160 wbound out of rdu had an RA with mlt Y at VFR 15500 ft. Air carrier X climbed to 16700 ft. No conflict. No other traffic. The 2 aircraft were already separated but pilot said TCASII doesn't like anything less than 1000 ft. A dangerous move for no apparent reason!

Title: ACR FLT CLBS IN RESPONSE TO TCASII RA ON VFR TFC.
Narrative: ACR X AT FL160 WBOUND OUT OF RDU HAD AN RA WITH MLT Y AT VFR 15500 FT. ACR X CLBED TO 16700 FT. NO CONFLICT. NO OTHER TFC. THE 2 ACFT WERE ALREADY SEPARATED BUT PLT SAID TCASII DOESN'T LIKE ANYTHING LESS THAN 1000 FT. A DANGEROUS MOVE FOR NO APPARENT REASON!
