Narrative:
On descent into sjc, we were cleared to cross klide at 5000 ft MSL, then for the ILS to runway 30L at sjc. ATC had called out several VFR targets in the immediate area. We visually acquired several but not the one that caused the RA. At 2 DME before klide and as we descended to 5400 ft, we received the 'climb' RA. I looked down at the TCASII scope and saw a red square within 1 NM with a minus 3. I instructed the copilot to follow the RA. We immediately added power and climbed to 6200 ft MSL before got a 'clear of conflict.' we informed ATC and continued our approach into sjc. We never visually acquired the RA target. There are many small airports in the area. Normally there are no conflicts. What is someone doing, flying VFR at an ILS intersection?

Title: FLC OF AN MLG ACR ACFT STOPPED DSNDING AND CLBED IN RESPONSE TO A TCASII RA.
Narrative: ON DSCNT INTO SJC, WE WERE CLRED TO CROSS KLIDE AT 5000 FT MSL, THEN FOR THE ILS TO RWY 30L AT SJC. ATC HAD CALLED OUT SEVERAL VFR TARGETS IN THE IMMEDIATE AREA. WE VISUALLY ACQUIRED SEVERAL BUT NOT THE ONE THAT CAUSED THE RA. AT 2 DME BEFORE KLIDE AND AS WE DSNDED TO 5400 FT, WE RECEIVED THE 'CLB' RA. I LOOKED DOWN AT THE TCASII SCOPE AND SAW A RED SQUARE WITHIN 1 NM WITH A MINUS 3. I INSTRUCTED THE COPLT TO FOLLOW THE RA. WE IMMEDIATELY ADDED PWR AND CLBED TO 6200 FT MSL BEFORE GOT A 'CLR OF CONFLICT.' WE INFORMED ATC AND CONTINUED OUR APCH INTO SJC. WE NEVER VISUALLY ACQUIRED THE RA TARGET. THERE ARE MANY SMALL ARPTS IN THE AREA. NORMALLY THERE ARE NO CONFLICTS. WHAT IS SOMEONE DOING, FLYING VFR AT AN ILS INTXN?
