Narrative:
On approach to runway 31R at jfk we encountered moderate to severe turbulence with windshear plus 45 KTS and minus 30 KTS and altitude increase of 400 ft. A missed approach escape maneuver was initiated and diversion to phl was made with no other problems. 1 passenger needed medical attention and was treated by paramedics at phl.
