Narrative:
Center issued TA's for conflicting aircraft. At 4 to 5 mi we obtained visual contact with aircraft. All this time our TCASII displayed the intruder at -500 to -300 ft below our altitude. TCASII issued TA. TCASII issued RA 'climb, climb' I initiated an immediate climb from 12000 ft MSL to 12600 ft MSL. First officer advised ATC. After RA returned to our previously assigned altitude of 12000 ft.
