Narrative:
After landing on snow covered field with ski equipped aircraft, left landing gear bungee support tube broke. Left landing gear pivoted outward causing left wingtip to contact snow just before aircraft had come to a complete stop. Only cosmetic damage to wingtip occurred. Support tube had broken due to operation on rough terrain during winter ski operations. During installation of skis, a more detailed unscheduled inspection of all landing gear components may be performed as a prevention tool to alleviate this problem in the future.
