Narrative:
We were cleared for takeoff at las runway 1R. We were cleared to fly the mead 8 departure with a boulder transition. At the las 2 DME fix we turned to a 070 heading and we were climbing to 7000 ft. At approximately 4500 ft we received a clearance from departure to descend to 4000 ft and turn to a heading of 360 degrees. At the same time, we received an RA advisory on our TCASII to monitor vertical speed. We saw our traffic and started a slow turn to 360 des so as to go below and behind our traffic. Once clear of traffic we were cleared back on course.
