Narrative:
Air carrier X (B727) en route J6 at FL280 (west of mrb VOR) and cpr Y (C550) on J149 (west of aml VOR) crossing J6. I climbed Y to FL280, became aware of overtake/crossing X, turned X left heading 230 degrees, descended Y back to FL270. Y reported level at FL270 11 seconds after immediate alert was activated. Resulting in a loss of separation of 4.6 NM and 700 ft.
