Narrative:

My flight was cleared to 17000 ft on the dfw departure transition. ZFW advised that we had VFR traffic at 11 O'clock, reported to be at 15500 ft. I requested a leveloff at 14500 ft and was at 14300 ft when the TCASII issued an RA. The VFR traffic had started a descending right turn toward us. I complied with the RA and informed the center that we were turning and complying with an RA on the TCASII. TCASII indicated that the VFR traffic was at 15500 ft initially, and I picked him up visually as we began to level. ZFW made a good call by informing us of the traffic, and the TCASII did an excellent job in warning us of the descent of the VFR traffic. No other traffic was involved.

Title: WDB ACFT HAS TCASII RA, RESPONDS.

Narrative: MY FLT WAS CLRED TO 17000 FT ON THE DFW DEP TRANSITION. ZFW ADVISED THAT WE HAD VFR TFC AT 11 O'CLOCK, RPTED TO BE AT 15500 FT. I REQUESTED A LEVELOFF AT 14500 FT AND WAS AT 14300 FT WHEN THE TCASII ISSUED AN RA. THE VFR TFC HAD STARTED A DSNDING R TURN TOWARD US. I COMPLIED WITH THE RA AND INFORMED THE CTR THAT WE WERE TURNING AND COMPLYING WITH AN RA ON THE TCASII. TCASII INDICATED THAT THE VFR TFC WAS AT 15500 FT INITIALLY, AND I PICKED HIM UP VISUALLY AS WE BEGAN TO LEVEL. ZFW MADE A GOOD CALL BY INFORMING US OF THE TFC, AND THE TCASII DID AN EXCELLENT JOB IN WARNING US OF THE DSCNT OF THE VFR TFC. NO OTHER TFC WAS INVOLVED.
