Narrative:
In descent from 10000 to 5000, talking with pvd approach control. Approach called out traffic/VFR heading eastbound, level 4500 ft, at our 10 O'clock position and about 5 mi. We confirmed a TCASII target in the relative position of the called out traffic as we began our level off, copilot sighted traffic and at about 5300 ft we received a 'TA' signal from TCASII followed shortly thereafter by a 'monitor descent' message then 'climb.' the copilot initiated a climb, and, reaching 5400 ft to 5600 ft, we heard a 'clear of conflict' message. We had visual sighting of the VFR cessna during the initial climb up from 5000 ft. Our separation was in my estimation never less than 500. Talked with pvd TRACON upon arrival. No conflict with any other traffic occurred with our 'RA' climb. I provided my name, address and certificate number per their request to be included with their report on RA's. The system worked appropriately and an uneventful landing was made.

Title: MLG ON APCH HAS TCASII RA.
Narrative: IN DSCNT FROM 10000 TO 5000, TALKING WITH PVD APCH CTL. APCH CALLED OUT TFC/VFR HDG EBOUND, LEVEL 4500 FT, AT OUR 10 O'CLOCK POS AND ABOUT 5 MI. WE CONFIRMED A TCASII TARGET IN THE RELATIVE POS OF THE CALLED OUT TFC AS WE BEGAN OUR LEVEL OFF, COPLT SIGHTED TFC AND AT ABOUT 5300 FT WE RECEIVED A 'TA' SIGNAL FROM TCASII FOLLOWED SHORTLY THEREAFTER BY A 'MONITOR DSCNT' MESSAGE THEN 'CLB.' THE COPLT INITIATED A CLB, AND, REACHING 5400 FT TO 5600 FT, WE HEARD A 'CLR OF CONFLICT' MESSAGE. WE HAD VISUAL SIGHTING OF THE VFR CESSNA DURING THE INITIAL CLB UP FROM 5000 FT. OUR SEPARATION WAS IN MY ESTIMATION NEVER LESS THAN 500. TALKED WITH PVD TRACON UPON ARR. NO CONFLICT WITH ANY OTHER TFC OCCURRED WITH OUR 'RA' CLB. I PROVIDED MY NAME, ADDRESS AND CERTIFICATE NUMBER PER THEIR REQUEST TO BE INCLUDED WITH THEIR RPT ON RA'S. THE SYS WORKED APPROPRIATELY AND AN UNEVENTFUL LNDG WAS MADE.
