Narrative:
The event that I'm about to describe is alleged and I have no idea whether I was involved or not. Thursday morning I departed from a private airstrip located outside of pequot lakes, mn, 4mn8, destination was orr, mn, orb. The flight was uneventful as we cruised at an altitude of approximately 4300 ft MSL. Visibility at gpz AWOS was calling for 12000 ft MSL and 10 mi but I believe it was better than that. Our heading during the trip was approximately 020 degrees. The only eventful thing that we heard was a pilot came on 122.8 and announced to somebody that he had just missed a red and white bonanza by 100 yards. Being that we were flying a red and white bonanza my ears were tuned in. At no time did myself or my 2 passenger see or hear another airplane in our area. Thinking this was the end of this, I didn't give it another thought until the evening trip back when there was a note on the airplane. A pilot called the airport looking for a red and white bonanza about a near miss. I was supposed to call the local FAA. I did and of course they were gone. I talked more to the airport people and found out additional information. The plane had taken off from hibbing, mn, IFR at 4000 ft MSL and that it was a freight run for air carrier Y to bemidji, our flight rtes could have crossed. The pilot however, did not get an north number and being my plane has the big north numbers I find it hard that the pilot in question did not get any of the digits, if it had been the near miss he says it was. Granted we were at approximately 4300 MSL heading 020 degrees, but we were not more than 3000 AGL for the magnetic direction of flight rules to be required. Still in my mind I can't imagine that it was my plane. One problem I do seem to see is that air carrier Z, air carrier Y and other air haulers seem to be in a big rush all of the time. Flying the same route every day and it gets to be a routine they forget about local and other VFR traffic. They have gotten so they think they own that piece of airspace and let their guard down while flying. Once again I'd like to repeat that neither I nor my 2 passenger ever saw another airplane converging on us nor did we make any evasive maneuvers.

Title: NMAC BTWN AN SMA SEL AND AN UNKNOWN ACFT DURING CRUISE FLT.
Narrative: THE EVENT THAT I'M ABOUT TO DESCRIBE IS ALLEGED AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHETHER I WAS INVOLVED OR NOT. THURSDAY MORNING I DEPARTED FROM A PVT AIRSTRIP LOCATED OUTSIDE OF PEQUOT LAKES, MN, 4MN8, DEST WAS ORR, MN, ORB. THE FLT WAS UNEVENTFUL AS WE CRUISED AT AN ALT OF APPROX 4300 FT MSL. VISIBILITY AT GPZ AWOS WAS CALLING FOR 12000 FT MSL AND 10 MI BUT I BELIEVE IT WAS BETTER THAN THAT. OUR HDG DURING THE TRIP WAS APPROX 020 DEGS. THE ONLY EVENTFUL THING THAT WE HEARD WAS A PLT CAME ON 122.8 AND ANNOUNCED TO SOMEBODY THAT HE HAD JUST MISSED A RED AND WHITE BONANZA BY 100 YARDS. BEING THAT WE WERE FLYING A RED AND WHITE BONANZA MY EARS WERE TUNED IN. AT NO TIME DID MYSELF OR MY 2 PAX SEE OR HEAR ANOTHER AIRPLANE IN OUR AREA. THINKING THIS WAS THE END OF THIS, I DIDN'T GIVE IT ANOTHER THOUGHT UNTIL THE EVENING TRIP BACK WHEN THERE WAS A NOTE ON THE AIRPLANE. A PLT CALLED THE ARPT LOOKING FOR A RED AND WHITE BONANZA ABOUT A NEAR MISS. I WAS SUPPOSED TO CALL THE LCL FAA. I DID AND OF COURSE THEY WERE GONE. I TALKED MORE TO THE ARPT PEOPLE AND FOUND OUT ADDITIONAL INFO. THE PLANE HAD TAKEN OFF FROM HIBBING, MN, IFR AT 4000 FT MSL AND THAT IT WAS A FREIGHT RUN FOR ACR Y TO BEMIDJI, OUR FLT RTES COULD HAVE CROSSED. THE PLT HOWEVER, DID NOT GET AN N NUMBER AND BEING MY PLANE HAS THE BIG N NUMBERS I FIND IT HARD THAT THE PLT IN QUESTION DID NOT GET ANY OF THE DIGITS, IF IT HAD BEEN THE NEAR MISS HE SAYS IT WAS. GRANTED WE WERE AT APPROX 4300 MSL HDG 020 DEGS, BUT WE WERE NOT MORE THAN 3000 AGL FOR THE MAGNETIC DIRECTION OF FLT RULES TO BE REQUIRED. STILL IN MY MIND I CAN'T IMAGINE THAT IT WAS MY PLANE. ONE PROB I DO SEEM TO SEE IS THAT ACR Z, ACR Y AND OTHER AIR HAULERS SEEM TO BE IN A BIG RUSH ALL OF THE TIME. FLYING THE SAME RTE EVERY DAY AND IT GETS TO BE A ROUTINE THEY FORGET ABOUT LCL AND OTHER VFR TFC. THEY HAVE GOTTEN SO THEY THINK THEY OWN THAT PIECE OF AIRSPACE AND LET THEIR GUARD DOWN WHILE FLYING. ONCE AGAIN I'D LIKE TO REPEAT THAT NEITHER I NOR MY 2 PAX EVER SAW ANOTHER AIRPLANE CONVERGING ON US NOR DID WE MAKE ANY EVASIVE MANEUVERS.
