Narrative:

We were in cruise at 17000 ft MSL. We were given a crossing restr to cross 25 NM west of flat rock at 9000 ft. At 27 NM ATC asked us to begin our descent. We crossed 23 NM west at 9000 ft. Clearance had been given approximately 5-10 minutes earlier. We were discussing the previous day's 15.5 hour duty day, having flown 9 legs on reduced rest.
