Narrative:
Outbound on the 085 degrees radial of sea, we were cleared to 13000 ft. At 13000 ft we decided, because of thunderstorm and circuit breakers, that we wanted to go to 15000 ft on 120.3 (center). We asked for and were cleared to 15000 ft. At about 13800 ft we were issued a clearance to 'stop climb, traffic 1 O'clock, 1 mi.' we leveled off and air carrier Y went right above us. They were at approximately 14000. The controller asked us to verify that we had seen air carrier Y. I said we did have him in sight. I asked at that point to verify whether we're cleared to 15000 ft. I received no reply from the controller.

Narrative: OUTBOUND ON THE 085 DEGS RADIAL OF SEA, WE WERE CLRED TO 13000 FT. AT 13000 FT WE DECIDED, BECAUSE OF TSTM AND CIRCUIT BREAKERS, THAT WE WANTED TO GO TO 15000 FT ON 120.3 (CTR). WE ASKED FOR AND WERE CLRED TO 15000 FT. AT ABOUT 13800 FT WE WERE ISSUED A CLRNC TO 'STOP CLB, TFC 1 O'CLOCK, 1 MI.' WE LEVELED OFF AND ACR Y WENT RIGHT ABOVE US. THEY WERE AT APPROX 14000. THE CTLR ASKED US TO VERIFY THAT WE HAD SEEN ACR Y. I SAID WE DID HAVE HIM IN SIGHT. I ASKED AT THAT POINT TO VERIFY WHETHER WE'RE CLRED TO 15000 FT. I RECEIVED NO REPLY FROM THE CTLR.
