Narrative:
During the approach phase of an ILS runway 19 at sna we got an RA on our TCASII. We were level at 3000 ft downwind for runway 19. We were given a heading change of 20 degrees to the left by approach control. At the same time, we had a TCASII RA -- we followed the TCASII commands and climbed to 3700 ft. When the RA was over, we descended back to 3000 ft and were cleared for the approach. TRACON claims we violated another IFR airplane's airspace and alarms went off. I was notified of this and informed by TRACON that an investigation would follow.

Title: MLG TAKES EVASIVE ACTION WHEN RECEIVING TCASII RA.
Narrative: DURING THE APCH PHASE OF AN ILS RWY 19 AT SNA WE GOT AN RA ON OUR TCASII. WE WERE LEVEL AT 3000 FT DOWNWIND FOR RWY 19. WE WERE GIVEN A HDG CHANGE OF 20 DEGS TO THE L BY APCH CTL. AT THE SAME TIME, WE HAD A TCASII RA -- WE FOLLOWED THE TCASII COMMANDS AND CLBED TO 3700 FT. WHEN THE RA WAS OVER, WE DSNDED BACK TO 3000 FT AND WERE CLRED FOR THE APCH. TRACON CLAIMS WE VIOLATED ANOTHER IFR AIRPLANE'S AIRSPACE AND ALARMS WENT OFF. I WAS NOTIFIED OF THIS AND INFORMED BY TRACON THAT AN INVESTIGATION WOULD FOLLOW.
