Narrative:

Altitude alerter indicated assigned altitude of 7000 ft. Noticed incursion at 8500 ft. Altitude alerter volume was too low to call attention -- could barely be heard. Also, ATC may have assigned 10000 ft and PNF did not enter into the box.

Narrative: ALT ALERTER INDICATED ASSIGNED ALT OF 7000 FT. NOTICED INCURSION AT 8500 FT. ALT ALERTER VOLUME WAS TOO LOW TO CALL ATTN -- COULD BARELY BE HEARD. ALSO, ATC MAY HAVE ASSIGNED 10000 FT AND PNF DID NOT ENTER INTO THE BOX.
