Narrative:
An aircraft, which I believed to be a twin-engine jet because I only saw his white belly and elliptical wings, was in a 70-80 degree bank (practically a wing-over) when it came up from below passing from about my 11:30 to my 12:30 O'clock position climbing through my altitude and passing about 30-40 ft off my right wing. I put my aircraft on its left wing to evade. I was proceeding east working joshua approach and had an assigned discrete transponder frequency. I queried approach, it never saw the other aircraft. It was the closest near miss I have ever encountered. I was probably about 1/2 mi north abeam the pmd VOR. I was flying a low-wing beech baron and assume I did not see the other aircraft sooner since he was coming up from below close and at rather a fairly steep climb angle. I believe the other pilot saw me before I saw it. I do not know what the aircraft was doing so close to the palmdale VOR, but this is 1 time I wish radar had printed it. I do not know why it did not or why joshua didn't get a collision warning.

Narrative: AN ACFT, WHICH I BELIEVED TO BE A TWIN-ENG JET BECAUSE I ONLY SAW HIS WHITE BELLY AND ELLIPTICAL WINGS, WAS IN A 70-80 DEG BANK (PRACTICALLY A WING-OVER) WHEN IT CAME UP FROM BELOW PASSING FROM ABOUT MY 11:30 TO MY 12:30 O'CLOCK POS CLBING THROUGH MY ALT AND PASSING ABOUT 30-40 FT OFF MY R WING. I PUT MY ACFT ON ITS L WING TO EVADE. I WAS PROCEEDING E WORKING JOSHUA APCH AND HAD AN ASSIGNED DISCRETE XPONDER FREQ. I QUERIED APCH, IT NEVER SAW THE OTHER ACFT. IT WAS THE CLOSEST NEAR MISS I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. I WAS PROBABLY ABOUT 1/2 MI N ABEAM THE PMD VOR. I WAS FLYING A LOW-WING BEECH BARON AND ASSUME I DID NOT SEE THE OTHER ACFT SOONER SINCE HE WAS COMING UP FROM BELOW CLOSE AND AT RATHER A FAIRLY STEEP CLB ANGLE. I BELIEVE THE OTHER PLT SAW ME BEFORE I SAW IT. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE ACFT WAS DOING SO CLOSE TO THE PALMDALE VOR, BUT THIS IS 1 TIME I WISH RADAR HAD PRINTED IT. I DO NOT KNOW WHY IT DID NOT OR WHY JOSHUA DIDN'T GET A COLLISION WARNING.
