Narrative:
While on the ground in wilmington, nc, on an air ambulance flight from honduras to new amsterdam we were called by an FAA representative and told we had been reported as operating an illegal charter. We immediately called in a replacement aircraft and prepared to respond to the allegations. I had been flying with this small company for 3 months, during which time the aircraft owner and company owner had changed over to a different part 135 certificate. He did this while I was away from the company for 2 weeks in late july and early august. When I rejoined him, he simply told me we were on another certificate, one which I had flown before and still had training records on. I accepted his word for it and flew a part 135 trip for him and with him several days later, although we did not yet have the proper flight logs on the operations manual. I incorrectly assumed we could get those in several days and catch up the paperwork. After several part 91 flts I reminded 'my boss,' who was also my copilot, that we still needed the flight logs and operations manual. However, he rebuffed me for questioning his business, so I 'backed off' to keep from aggravating the situation. On sep/fri/94 he 'backed me into a corner' to go on a long trip. It was on that trip we were challenged by the FAA. I finally demanded to see the paperwork showing our addition to the recent part 135 certificate. It appeared to be okay, but several days later I learned from the certificate holder that it had been forged. I am now awaiting contact with an FAA representative to make a full and open statement about the situation and my involvement in it.
