Narrative:
Executed go around on approach to runway 26L den due to increase in tailwind over allowable 10 KTS. Assigned 8000 ft on go around. Vectored for next approach to runway 35R. While configuring a flap leading edge asymmetry condition occurred. Went around and was again assigned 8000 ft. Received a TCASII RA and complied climbing to 8350 ft. Returned to 8000 ft when clear. Completed leading edge asymmetry checklist and landed on runway 17L with emergency equipment standing by. Taxied to gate with flaps at 30 degrees as per company procedure. Seems to always be a reluctance at den to change landing direction when tailwind begins to exceed 10 KTS. I noticed on taxi in that takeoffs were then begun to the east and lndgs to south.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: RPTR RELATES 3 EVENTS -- A GAR FOR MORE THAN 10 KT TAILWIND ON LNDG. A FLAP ASYMMETRY LEADING EDGE, AND A RA ON TCASII WHICH HE COMPLIED WITH.
Narrative: EXECUTED GAR ON APCH TO RWY 26L DEN DUE TO INCREASE IN TAILWIND OVER ALLOWABLE 10 KTS. ASSIGNED 8000 FT ON GAR. VECTORED FOR NEXT APCH TO RWY 35R. WHILE CONFIGURING A FLAP LEADING EDGE ASYMMETRY CONDITION OCCURRED. WENT AROUND AND WAS AGAIN ASSIGNED 8000 FT. RECEIVED A TCASII RA AND COMPLIED CLBING TO 8350 FT. RETURNED TO 8000 FT WHEN CLR. COMPLETED LEADING EDGE ASYMMETRY CHKLIST AND LANDED ON RWY 17L WITH EMER EQUIP STANDING BY. TAXIED TO GATE WITH FLAPS AT 30 DEGS AS PER COMPANY PROC. SEEMS TO ALWAYS BE A RELUCTANCE AT DEN TO CHANGE LNDG DIRECTION WHEN TAILWIND BEGINS TO EXCEED 10 KTS. I NOTICED ON TAXI IN THAT TKOFS WERE THEN BEGUN TO THE E AND LNDGS TO S.
