Narrative:
At approximately PM40 local at jfk airport, military charter flight aborted takeoff on runway 22R. Aircraft arrived from frankfort, with crew change and continuations onto nellis AFB. Dispatch release indicated an inoperative ADF and inoperative autothrottle. Cockpit preflight and taxi out were normal. Throttles were advanced for take off and EICAS message 'reverser isolation valve' annunciated shortly thereafter. Takeoff was aborted (approximately 40 KTS) and aircraft returned to camp. Further investigation revealed a logbook deferment of 'left reverser isolation valve.' inoperative placard was not found for this item. The engine was runup, reverser checked by maintenance, and operator found normal. Flight operated routinely to nellis AFB. The flight crew should have reviewed the logbook prior to departure from the gate but was not done due to late arrival of logbook to aircraft and cockpit workload. Other potential traps were that the release did not include the inoperative MEL item. There is not a good method for flcs to review previous flight history (including theoretically corrected items) that might affect critical phases of flight.

Title: AN ACR WDB ABORTED ITS TKOF.
Narrative: AT APPROX PM40 LCL AT JFK ARPT, MIL CHARTER FLT ABORTED TKOF ON RWY 22R. ACFT ARRIVED FROM FRANKFORT, WITH CREW CHANGE AND CONTINUATIONS ONTO NELLIS AFB. DISPATCH RELEASE INDICATED AN INOP ADF AND INOP AUTOTHROTTLE. COCKPIT PREFLT AND TAXI OUT WERE NORMAL. THROTTLES WERE ADVANCED FOR TAKE OFF AND EICAS MESSAGE 'REVERSER ISOLATION VALVE' ANNUNCIATED SHORTLY THEREAFTER. TKOF WAS ABORTED (APPROX 40 KTS) AND ACFT RETURNED TO CAMP. FURTHER INVESTIGATION REVEALED A LOGBOOK DEFERMENT OF 'L REVERSER ISOLATION VALVE.' INOP PLACARD WAS NOT FOUND FOR THIS ITEM. THE ENG WAS RUNUP, REVERSER CHKED BY MAINT, AND OPERATOR FOUND NORMAL. FLT OPERATED ROUTINELY TO NELLIS AFB. THE FLC SHOULD HAVE REVIEWED THE LOGBOOK PRIOR TO DEP FROM THE GATE BUT WAS NOT DONE DUE TO LATE ARR OF LOGBOOK TO ACFT AND COCKPIT WORKLOAD. OTHER POTENTIAL TRAPS WERE THAT THE RELEASE DID NOT INCLUDE THE INOP MEL ITEM. THERE IS NOT A GOOD METHOD FOR FLCS TO REVIEW PREVIOUS FLT HISTORY (INCLUDING THEORETICALLY CORRECTED ITEMS) THAT MIGHT AFFECT CRITICAL PHASES OF FLT.
