Narrative:
Upon landing on runway 28L at pit, controller advised us to exit C3, and taxi to the ramp via C, and C2. After exiting on C3, I asked my first officer if that was C in front of us (there was no visible 'C' sign). He checked his taxi diagram and said yes. I proceeded to taxi on what turned out to be V, which crossed runway 28C (which was too in use). Controller advised us we went the wrong way and gave us new taxi instructions.
