Narrative:
While en route from ewr to bac over bgm. The aircraft experienced erratic engine instrument readings, and loss of power #2 engine. We executed appropriate checklists to try and resolve the problem. Once unable to fix the problem, we concluded that the engine should be shut down to prevent any further danger. After declaring an emergency we finished all appropriate checklists and diverted and landing at bgm, without any damage to persons and or property.
