Narrative:
In sum: a high time private pilot, with his son as passenger, was participating in an airshow at myr. His aircraft, a P-51D, was part of a static display. When the reporter attempted to depart the parking area, he had difficulty contacting the ATCT ground controller. Finally he was able to taxi, but there were none of the promised flag men to help direct traffic. As the reporter's engine was not facing into the wind, it was overheating. The reporter seems to have taxied without a definite clearance. Crash fire rescue equipment equipment was sent to his aircraft in the runup area in response to his report of engine overheating. The reporter apparently thought that he had takeoff clearance and took off on runway 35R. 2 aircraft may have been forced to go around because of his takeoff. The reporter contacted the myr TRACON supervisor when he reached his home base. The situation of ending the airshow and arriving traffic was very confusing to the reporter with his poor communications. He states that he was not trying to make any problems or get anyone in the tower in trouble.

Title: TAXI AND TKOF WITHOUT CLRNC.
Narrative: IN SUM: A HIGH TIME PVT PLT, WITH HIS SON AS PAX, WAS PARTICIPATING IN AN AIRSHOW AT MYR. HIS ACFT, A P-51D, WAS PART OF A STATIC DISPLAY. WHEN THE RPTR ATTEMPTED TO DEPART THE PARKING AREA, HE HAD DIFFICULTY CONTACTING THE ATCT GND CTLR. FINALLY HE WAS ABLE TO TAXI, BUT THERE WERE NONE OF THE PROMISED FLAG MEN TO HELP DIRECT TFC. AS THE RPTR'S ENG WAS NOT FACING INTO THE WIND, IT WAS OVERHEATING. THE RPTR SEEMS TO HAVE TAXIED WITHOUT A DEFINITE CLRNC. CFR EQUIP WAS SENT TO HIS ACFT IN THE RUNUP AREA IN RESPONSE TO HIS RPT OF ENG OVERHEATING. THE RPTR APPARENTLY THOUGHT THAT HE HAD TKOF CLRNC AND TOOK OFF ON RWY 35R. 2 ACFT MAY HAVE BEEN FORCED TO GAR BECAUSE OF HIS TKOF. THE RPTR CONTACTED THE MYR TRACON SUPVR WHEN HE REACHED HIS HOME BASE. THE SIT OF ENDING THE AIRSHOW AND ARRIVING TFC WAS VERY CONFUSING TO THE RPTR WITH HIS POOR COMS. HE STATES THAT HE WAS NOT TRYING TO MAKE ANY PROBS OR GET ANYONE IN THE TWR IN TROUBLE.
