Narrative:

Approximately 15 NM south of dtw, we received a steady fire warning light on annunciator panel. Since we were ferrying aircraft for intermittent fire detection light problem, we called company and maintenance control to ask them 'what we should do since our fire light was illuminated?' maintenance control said, shut it down and if light goes out, blow the fire halon bottle. Ran QRH engine/fire, pulled stop and feather, and light immediately went out. Did not blow the halon bottle, however, QRH asks us, 'is there a fire?' captain responded 'no.' as a result, I did not blow the halon bottle and continued to next item in the QRH. We landed at dtw without any further incident. Crash fire rescue equipment called and emergency declared.
