Narrative:
Taxiing out from gate, miscom with controller. We were supposed to hold for a J31 but did not see anyone coming so we taxied out. Controller told us to contact ground. When we got to destination, all kinds of messages to call ramp controller (pit). A J31 had made a fuss about us taxiing out early and something about preferential treatment. Controller was mad to say the least.
