Narrative:
On the arrival into bna we were descending to 10000 ft MSL when center advised of VFR traffic at 11 O'clock. In clouds until level at 10000 ft traffic showed up on TCASII at 10800 ft descending. Switched to approach control and they advised traffic was no factor. Picked up traffic visually. At that time altitude was 10600 ft descending with a converging flight path. We got a TCASII TA/RA to descend. Advised approach center on conflict and descended to approximately 9500 ft MSL after passing traffic we climbed back to 10000 ft MSL and continued the arrival.

Title: FLC OF AN MLG DSNDED BELOW ASSIGNED ALT IN RESPONSE TO A TCASII RA.
Narrative: ON THE ARR INTO BNA WE WERE DSNDING TO 10000 FT MSL WHEN CTR ADVISED OF VFR TFC AT 11 O'CLOCK. IN CLOUDS UNTIL LEVEL AT 10000 FT TFC SHOWED UP ON TCASII AT 10800 FT DSNDING. SWITCHED TO APCH CTL AND THEY ADVISED TFC WAS NO FACTOR. PICKED UP TFC VISUALLY. AT THAT TIME ALT WAS 10600 FT DSNDING WITH A CONVERGING FLT PATH. WE GOT A TCASII TA/RA TO DSND. ADVISED APCH CTR ON CONFLICT AND DSNDED TO APPROX 9500 FT MSL AFTER PASSING TFC WE CLBED BACK TO 10000 FT MSL AND CONTINUED THE ARR.
