Narrative:

Did not set 29.92 in hg. (Did not do climb checklist). ATC leveled us at 17000 ft on climb out, subsequently cleared to FL390. ZDC called traffic at 12 O'clock, FL370 after clear of traffic. Washington told us he had us 300 ft low. We noticed we had 30.22 set and corrected. During climb out I was doing PA during leveloff at 17000 ft (we were previously cleared to a higher altitude). I feel this leveloff took us out of our normal pattern and contributed to us forgetting the climb checklist.

Narrative: DID NOT SET 29.92 IN HG. (DID NOT DO CLB CHKLIST). ATC LEVELED US AT 17000 FT ON CLBOUT, SUBSEQUENTLY CLRED TO FL390. ZDC CALLED TFC AT 12 O'CLOCK, FL370 AFTER CLR OF TFC. WASHINGTON TOLD US HE HAD US 300 FT LOW. WE NOTICED WE HAD 30.22 SET AND CORRECTED. DURING CLBOUT I WAS DOING PA DURING LEVELOFF AT 17000 FT (WE WERE PREVIOUSLY CLRED TO A HIGHER ALT). I FEEL THIS LEVELOFF TOOK US OUT OF OUR NORMAL PATTERN AND CONTRIBUTED TO US FORGETTING THE CLB CHKLIST.
