Narrative:
As I was climbing on crosswind after takeoff runway 5, a lear jet passed close behind me on downwind. Neither of us was warned by tower. Tower said his radar was out, and he had expected lear jet on base. Both pilots saw each other, but passed closer than comfortable. ATIS should state radar is out so pilots are alerted to be extra careful and not rely on usual service.

Title: NMAC IN THE TFC PATTERN.
Narrative: AS I WAS CLBING ON XWIND AFTER TKOF RWY 5, A LEAR JET PASSED CLOSE BEHIND ME ON DOWNWIND. NEITHER OF US WAS WARNED BY TWR. TWR SAID HIS RADAR WAS OUT, AND HE HAD EXPECTED LEAR JET ON BASE. BOTH PLTS SAW EACH OTHER, BUT PASSED CLOSER THAN COMFORTABLE. ATIS SHOULD STATE RADAR IS OUT SO PLTS ARE ALERTED TO BE EXTRA CAREFUL AND NOT RELY ON USUAL SVC.
