Narrative:

On takeoff from pdx airport called for 'gear up' and gear failed to retract. We advised ATC that we would like to stay at 8000 ft because we had a gear problem. Our destination airport was seattle so we continued to sea with the gear down at 180 KTS at 8000 ft. We declared an emergency into sea because of our gear problem and landed without incident. All crewmembers performed their duties according to company policies and procedures in a safe and professional manner. Problem was due to maintenance installing a microswitch on the squat switch incorrectly the previous day.
