Narrative:
On mar/sun/91 I endorsed (student name) for a solo cross country from aoo (altoona-blair co, PA) to lhv (lockhaven PA). I checked the WX and his cross country planning. Everything looked ok. He departed aoo approximately XA30 am local time. Approximately XC00 local time, I received a call from the williamsport control tower (ipt). I was informed that my student landed at ipt. He had not established radio contact with the tower prior to entering the class D airspace. He landed and taxied without a clearance. He apparently caused a commuter to go around, however, I do not know any more details about that situation. The student later informed me that he never saw another aircraft in flight. The student apparently got off course and flew by lhv and mistook ipt for his destination. He realized his mistake after landing and taxiing to the ramp. He talked to the tower controller via telephone from the FBO office. He was very upset by what he had done, and in his anxiety to leave ipt he failed to obtain a logbook endorsement for the return flight to altoona. The student will receive more dual instructions prior to going on another solo cross country.

Title: A STUDENT PLT ON A SOLO XCOUNTRY FLT ERRONEOUSLY ENTERED CLASS D AIRSPACE AND LANDED AT THE WRONG ARPT WITHOUT A CLRNC.
Narrative: ON MAR/SUN/91 I ENDORSED (STUDENT NAME) FOR A SOLO XCOUNTRY FROM AOO (ALTOONA-BLAIR CO, PA) TO LHV (LOCKHAVEN PA). I CHKED THE WX AND HIS XCOUNTRY PLANNING. EVERYTHING LOOKED OK. HE DEPARTED AOO APPROX XA30 AM LCL TIME. APPROX XC00 LCL TIME, I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE WILLIAMSPORT CTL TWR (IPT). I WAS INFORMED THAT MY STUDENT LANDED AT IPT. HE HAD NOT ESTABLISHED RADIO CONTACT WITH THE TWR PRIOR TO ENTERING THE CLASS D AIRSPACE. HE LANDED AND TAXIED WITHOUT A CLRNC. HE APPARENTLY CAUSED A COMMUTER TO GAR, HOWEVER, I DO NOT KNOW ANY MORE DETAILS ABOUT THAT SIT. THE STUDENT LATER INFORMED ME THAT HE NEVER SAW ANOTHER ACFT IN FLT. THE STUDENT APPARENTLY GOT OFF COURSE AND FLEW BY LHV AND MISTOOK IPT FOR HIS DEST. HE REALIZED HIS MISTAKE AFTER LNDG AND TAXIING TO THE RAMP. HE TALKED TO THE TWR CTLR VIA TELEPHONE FROM THE FBO OFFICE. HE WAS VERY UPSET BY WHAT HE HAD DONE, AND IN HIS ANXIETY TO LEAVE IPT HE FAILED TO OBTAIN A LOGBOOK ENDORSEMENT FOR THE RETURN FLT TO ALTOONA. THE STUDENT WILL RECEIVE MORE DUAL INSTRUCTIONS PRIOR TO GOING ON ANOTHER SOLO XCOUNTRY.
