Narrative:
On apr/sat/95 at approximately XA20 hours, I was cleared for takeoff in arrow, then right turn on course to I15 by the tower controller at ptk. Shortly after departing ptk on runway 9R, I was advised by ptk tower of traffic in my area. I expected, but never received, a handoff from ptk tower to dtw approach control. After having waited for what I felt was too long for a frequency change, I contacted ptk tower and asked if I was cleared to change frequency. I was advised that I was well out of their class D airspace and should contact dtw approach, which I immediately did. After making contact with dtw approach, I was advised that I was well into their class B airspace, which I knew, and was given their telephone number and was asked to contact them when I landed at my destination I15, in lancaster, oh. When I called, I was advised that I had illegally entered class B airspace and that, although there were no known near miss sits, they had been aiming traffic right at me as I passed through their airspace. I was asked if I ever felt uncomfortable with the proximity of any other air traffic, to which I gave a negative response. I realize that I should have contacted the ptk tower controller much sooner than I did when I did not receive a frequency change. I also believe that when departing a tower controled airport in VFR flight, that the tower controller should be required to give you a handoff frequency change to the next controller when you will be immediately entering controled airspace.

Title: PVT PLT ERRONEOUSLY ENTERS CLASS B AIRSPACE WITHOUT CLRNC.
Narrative: ON APR/SAT/95 AT APPROX XA20 HRS, I WAS CLRED FOR TKOF IN ARROW, THEN R TURN ON COURSE TO I15 BY THE TWR CTLR AT PTK. SHORTLY AFTER DEPARTING PTK ON RWY 9R, I WAS ADVISED BY PTK TWR OF TFC IN MY AREA. I EXPECTED, BUT NEVER RECEIVED, A HDOF FROM PTK TWR TO DTW APCH CTL. AFTER HAVING WAITED FOR WHAT I FELT WAS TOO LONG FOR A FREQ CHANGE, I CONTACTED PTK TWR AND ASKED IF I WAS CLRED TO CHANGE FREQ. I WAS ADVISED THAT I WAS WELL OUT OF THEIR CLASS D AIRSPACE AND SHOULD CONTACT DTW APCH, WHICH I IMMEDIATELY DID. AFTER MAKING CONTACT WITH DTW APCH, I WAS ADVISED THAT I WAS WELL INTO THEIR CLASS B AIRSPACE, WHICH I KNEW, AND WAS GIVEN THEIR TELEPHONE NUMBER AND WAS ASKED TO CONTACT THEM WHEN I LANDED AT MY DEST I15, IN LANCASTER, OH. WHEN I CALLED, I WAS ADVISED THAT I HAD ILLEGALLY ENTERED CLASS B AIRSPACE AND THAT, ALTHOUGH THERE WERE NO KNOWN NEAR MISS SITS, THEY HAD BEEN AIMING TFC RIGHT AT ME AS I PASSED THROUGH THEIR AIRSPACE. I WAS ASKED IF I EVER FELT UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THE PROX OF ANY OTHER AIR TFC, TO WHICH I GAVE A NEGATIVE RESPONSE. I REALIZE THAT I SHOULD HAVE CONTACTED THE PTK TWR CTLR MUCH SOONER THAN I DID WHEN I DID NOT RECEIVE A FREQ CHANGE. I ALSO BELIEVE THAT WHEN DEPARTING A TWR CTLED ARPT IN VFR FLT, THAT THE TWR CTLR SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO GIVE YOU A HDOF FREQ CHANGE TO THE NEXT CTLR WHEN YOU WILL BE IMMEDIATELY ENTERING CTLED AIRSPACE.
