Narrative:
After takeoff from runway 3 at sat, we were cleared via the bowie 1 departure. On intercepting the 301 degree sat radial I turned toward the VOR rather than maintaining runway heading as stated on the SID. There was apparently no conflict as the controller gave me a slight heading correction and we proceeded normally. The error was in last min runway change and incomplete briefing of the SID.
