Narrative:
On the approach to runway 25L at las and on the localizer, with no DME, I had the #2 VOR on what I thought was las VOR when in fact it was bld about 10 mi short and to the left. When I checked the frequency, my mind registered 116.9 when in fact it was 116.7. I did descend below the floor of the class B airspace but not back in the class B space at the 20 mi ring. I did not check the frequency close enough that the first officer did what was expected.

Title: FLC OF AN MLG DSNDED BELOW PUBLISHED APCH DUE TO USING WRONG NAVAID.
Narrative: ON THE APCH TO RWY 25L AT LAS AND ON THE LOC, WITH NO DME, I HAD THE #2 VOR ON WHAT I THOUGHT WAS LAS VOR WHEN IN FACT IT WAS BLD ABOUT 10 MI SHORT AND TO THE L. WHEN I CHKED THE FREQ, MY MIND REGISTERED 116.9 WHEN IN FACT IT WAS 116.7. I DID DSND BELOW THE FLOOR OF THE CLASS B AIRSPACE BUT NOT BACK IN THE CLASS B SPACE AT THE 20 MI RING. I DID NOT CHK THE FREQ CLOSE ENOUGH THAT THE FO DID WHAT WAS EXPECTED.
