Narrative:
Flight mpm to slc. Cruise FL350 jnc to ffu VOR. ATC give clearance to cross 50 DME northwest of jnc at FL310, then changes to 60 DME. I start to enter data into FMC and FAA observer and check pilot questioned technique. By the time distraction over, I was too late to make FL310 at 60 DME, missed by 6 mi, should have gone back to raw data, but was distracted by debate.
