Narrative:

At FL330 we were cleared to climb to FL350. I heard FL370 which was our filed cruise altitude. Copilot read back FL350. I climbed to FL370 as he gave a PA message. Center called back and turned us off the airway and informed us of the altitude deviation. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated that he never heard any more about this incident and that ATC advised that there was no conflict. They had rted the aircraft to prevent any possible conflict. He was operating an A320 type aircraft.

Title: CAPT OF AN MLG CLBED TO THE WRONG ALT BY MISTAKE.

Narrative: AT FL330 WE WERE CLRED TO CLB TO FL350. I HEARD FL370 WHICH WAS OUR FILED CRUISE ALT. COPLT READ BACK FL350. I CLBED TO FL370 AS HE GAVE A PA MESSAGE. CTR CALLED BACK AND TURNED US OFF THE AIRWAY AND INFORMED US OF THE ALTDEV. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATED THAT HE NEVER HEARD ANY MORE ABOUT THIS INCIDENT AND THAT ATC ADVISED THAT THERE WAS NO CONFLICT. THEY HAD RTED THE ACFT TO PREVENT ANY POSSIBLE CONFLICT. HE WAS OPERATING AN A320 TYPE ACFT.
