Narrative:

As I was climbing out of sch I first tried to contact new york FSS. They were not responding, and when they finally did, I could not understand them and I never heard that my flight plan was activated. I kept calling them back to confirm the activation of my flight plan. When, at last they did say that I was activated, I then realized that I had climbed to an altitude of 2150 ft MSL, where I was supposed to have stayed below 2000 ft MSL to clear alb's class C airspace. As soon as I realized, I descended down to 1800 ft MSL and resumed my navigation and my course underneath alb's airspace. At the point that I had reached this altitude, I had already been released by sch tower and I was speaking with the FSS, trying to activate my flight plan. I fly out of (locally) an uncontrolled airport, and this was my first solo trip to a class C/D airport. I was extremely nervous about talking to ATC at these airports, but was reassured from my trip to sch. On the way out, I was so stressed by not being spoken to by the FSS, I lost track of where I was on my ascent. I realize this was a violation of airspace, however, I did learn from this and will stay very clear of restr airspace in the future.

Narrative: AS I WAS CLBING OUT OF SCH I FIRST TRIED TO CONTACT NEW YORK FSS. THEY WERE NOT RESPONDING, AND WHEN THEY FINALLY DID, I COULD NOT UNDERSTAND THEM AND I NEVER HEARD THAT MY FLT PLAN WAS ACTIVATED. I KEPT CALLING THEM BACK TO CONFIRM THE ACTIVATION OF MY FLT PLAN. WHEN, AT LAST THEY DID SAY THAT I WAS ACTIVATED, I THEN REALIZED THAT I HAD CLBED TO AN ALT OF 2150 FT MSL, WHERE I WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE STAYED BELOW 2000 FT MSL TO CLR ALB'S CLASS C AIRSPACE. AS SOON AS I REALIZED, I DSNDED DOWN TO 1800 FT MSL AND RESUMED MY NAV AND MY COURSE UNDERNEATH ALB'S AIRSPACE. AT THE POINT THAT I HAD REACHED THIS ALT, I HAD ALREADY BEEN RELEASED BY SCH TWR AND I WAS SPEAKING WITH THE FSS, TRYING TO ACTIVATE MY FLT PLAN. I FLY OUT OF (LOCALLY) AN UNCTLED ARPT, AND THIS WAS MY FIRST SOLO TRIP TO A CLASS C/D ARPT. I WAS EXTREMELY NERVOUS ABOUT TALKING TO ATC AT THESE ARPTS, BUT WAS REASSURED FROM MY TRIP TO SCH. ON THE WAY OUT, I WAS SO STRESSED BY NOT BEING SPOKEN TO BY THE FSS, I LOST TRACK OF WHERE I WAS ON MY ASCENT. I REALIZE THIS WAS A VIOLATION OF AIRSPACE, HOWEVER, I DID LEARN FROM THIS AND WILL STAY VERY CLR OF RESTR AIRSPACE IN THE FUTURE.
