Narrative:

I was approaching wdg and announced my intentions to land when I was 19 mi south of the airport. I announced again at 9 mi south and was told to turn left base for runway 17. I was told to announce again and I was told to use runway 30. I thought the controller said runway 35. I tried to reach the tower 3 times to inform I was entering and landing on runway 35. Tower was not reading my radio message. An aircraft (military) was also entering on runway 35 and I was told to use runway 17 instead. The military pilot called me to state he was filing a military complaint for a close call (near miss) not an FAA complaint. I may have heard the tower incorrectly (runway 30 not runway 35), however, I tried to reach the tower 3 times to clarify.
