Narrative:
We were cleared for takeoff on runway 30L. The tower advised us of traffic off runway 29 departing southwest and traffic that had departed runway 30R making a right turn out. After takeoff I told the first officer to keep me advised of the traffic on our right front. No other comments were made by any crewmember. I looked up as we passed a light single engine aircraft. He was about 800 ft to our right and 300 ft below us. He was what appeared the same direction. There were no comments from ATC or the other aircraft. The rest of the flight was uneventful. I feel we should have been held in position until the light aircraft was well out of the departure area.
