Narrative:

I landed at san augustine county airport (78R) in texas and taxied to the tie down parking area where only 2 parking spaces have tie down ropes. The space on the end (next to grass) was the only one available. As I was maneuvering the plane into position to pivot 180 degrees left into the available parking spot, I was keeping to the right edge of the pavement and looking left to judge when to turn, when I bumped a rental car sign with the plane's right wing's leading edge approximately 6 inches from the wingtip. This caused minor damage to the leading edge of the plane and no damage to the sign. Airworthiness of the airplane was not affected.
