Narrative:
Runway 8 was in use at tjbq, so we taxied via taxiway 1 to taxiway 'a' for departure. We did not know that taxiway 'a' was closed as there was no NOTAM issued, nor anything said when our so obtained the departure WX. Unicom tried to reach us but at the time ZSU was calling also so we missed unicom's calls. When we got to taxiway 'a' there were barricades across half of the taxiway. But the remainder that was open was more than adequate for a B727 (75-100 ft). By the time we were informed of the closure, the only way for us to go was to taxi through the open portion of taxiway 'a.' apparently this was a temporary closure of the taxiway, but it sure would have been a lot easier if the tjbq airport people advised everybody of the closure and issued the appropriate NOTAM.

Title: TAXI ON CLOSED TXWY.
Narrative: RWY 8 WAS IN USE AT TJBQ, SO WE TAXIED VIA TXWY 1 TO TXWY 'A' FOR DEP. WE DID NOT KNOW THAT TXWY 'A' WAS CLOSED AS THERE WAS NO NOTAM ISSUED, NOR ANYTHING SAID WHEN OUR SO OBTAINED THE DEP WX. UNICOM TRIED TO REACH US BUT AT THE TIME ZSU WAS CALLING ALSO SO WE MISSED UNICOM'S CALLS. WHEN WE GOT TO TXWY 'A' THERE WERE BARRICADES ACROSS HALF OF THE TXWY. BUT THE REMAINDER THAT WAS OPEN WAS MORE THAN ADEQUATE FOR A B727 (75-100 FT). BY THE TIME WE WERE INFORMED OF THE CLOSURE, THE ONLY WAY FOR US TO GO WAS TO TAXI THROUGH THE OPEN PORTION OF TXWY 'A.' APPARENTLY THIS WAS A TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE TXWY, BUT IT SURE WOULD HAVE BEEN A LOT EASIER IF THE TJBQ ARPT PEOPLE ADVISED EVERYBODY OF THE CLOSURE AND ISSUED THE APPROPRIATE NOTAM.
