Narrative:

On climb out from dfw, both captain and first officer heard ATC say, 'air carrier abcd, turn left 050 degrees, join the dfw 067 degree radial, climb to 17000 ft.' first officer read back clearance verbatim and captain began turn. Moments later, ATC gave air carrier abcd another clearance for an immediate right turn heading 180 degrees and asked why we were turning east. First officer replied that we received a previous clearance. ATC said that the previous clearance was for a different aircraft. Later, we heard another aircraft, air carrier abcb, on frequency.
