Narrative:

I was returning from a flight to glendive, mt (visiting friends). This is a distance of approximately 100 mi. There was no problem during the flight. WX was good. When I reduced the power to enter the pattern, the engine sounded different from usual. When I added power it did not respond well. So I landed on the nearest runway. The landing speed was slightly higher than I usually use. The plane bounced and hit the propeller. The engine continued to run. I did not know that the propeller was bent until I shut off the engine. There was no injury or other damage to the plane. I suppose I was concerned about the engine's behavior and did not watch the speed very carefully. I learned a valuable lesson.
