Narrative:
New captain in left seat flying on IOE with check airman in right seat. New captain flew wrong airway outbound from over VOR. Check airman noticed error after a few mi and corrected when ATC called to question course. New captain had been flying for several yrs as first officer on advanced FMS aircraft in international environment and was rusty on airway flying and chart reading.

Narrative: NEW CAPT IN L SEAT FLYING ON IOE WITH CHK AIRMAN IN R SEAT. NEW CAPT FLEW WRONG AIRWAY OUTBOUND FROM OVER VOR. CHK AIRMAN NOTICED ERROR AFTER A FEW MI AND CORRECTED WHEN ATC CALLED TO QUESTION COURSE.
