Narrative:
Climbing through 28000 ft, I noticed the abnormally high engine oil temperature. In-flight troubleshooting proved fruitless and company maintenance was contacted via commercial radio phone patch for advice. No further advice given. Requested clearance to atl in anticipation of eventual single engine landing. Secured #1 engine while descending for atl. When temperature (oil) dropped to 90 degree C, restarted #1 engine. As oil temperature increased to above limits, secured #1 engine (again) and made uneventful single engine landing at atl. Proceeded to atl after securing engine because of good WX at atl and long runway.
