Narrative:

Aircraft was descending from FL220 to FL200 with autoplt/autothrottles engaged. Descent mode was 'IAS.' as the aircraft descended through FL200 (assigned altitude), pilots disengaged the autoplt and stopped the descent by FL195, then climbed back to FL200. The autoplt failed to capture the altitude set in the autoplt altitude select window. There was no conflict with other traffic and the ATC controller said nothing about the deviation.

Title: ALTDEV OVERSHOOT ON DSCNT.

Narrative: ACFT WAS DSNDING FROM FL220 TO FL200 WITH AUTOPLT/AUTOTHROTTLES ENGAGED. DSCNT MODE WAS 'IAS.' AS THE ACFT DSNDED THROUGH FL200 (ASSIGNED ALT), PLTS DISENGAGED THE AUTOPLT AND STOPPED THE DSCNT BY FL195, THEN CLBED BACK TO FL200. THE AUTOPLT FAILED TO CAPTURE THE ALT SET IN THE AUTOPLT ALT SELECT WINDOW. THERE WAS NO CONFLICT WITH OTHER TFC AND THE ATC CTLR SAID NOTHING ABOUT THE DEV.
